This week we read a lot of stories by Laura Numeroff. We worked on our comprehension skills by searching for realism and fantasy in her stories. We also spent time working on cause and effect. On Thursday we made muffins after we read her story If You Give a Moose a Muffin.
First, we read the directions and assigned each person two jobs.
Next, we mixed all of our ingredients.
Then, we poured the batter into the muffin tins and put them in the oven.
Finally! It was time to eat our muffins! We reviewed narrative writing by writing a story following the BME plan we learned earlier in the year. Students worked hard to get their temporal words in their stories!
This week we read the story about Flat Stanley. We couldn't believe he
was flattened by his bulletin board! It was fun to listen to all the
adventures he went on, but now it's time for our very own
Flat Stanley to have some fun!
Here we are writing a letter on the back of our Flat Stanley.
We were all smiles before we folded him to fit in our envelope! :)
And they are off! We can't wait to start getting some mail back real soon!
